This privacy policy describes how Simple Trip Planner (“the App”) handles information.
Simple Trip Planner organizes trips on your device and, when you choose to sign in, syncs trip data to Google Firebase so you can use the same trips across devices and invite others to collaborate.
Signing in is optional. Without an account, trip data stays on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework (iOS) or local device storage (Android).
If you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google, we store:
You can sign out at any time from Settings → Account.
When you are signed in, trip content you create or edit is stored in Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage. That may include destinations (one or more), dates, activities, packing lists, expenses (including payer and equal-split participant IDs when you use expense balances), currencies and exchange rates you set for a trip, notes, and document/ticket files. Invited members of a trip can view and edit the same trip data. Everyone invited has equal access.
When you are signed out, that content remains only on your device unless you export or share it yourself.
The App may contact:
Country names and flags are stored in the App (no third-party country list download).
If you use ticket scan or import, the App may use the device camera (with your permission) and on-device text/barcode recognition to fill flight fields from a boarding pass or ticket image/PDF. That processing happens on your device. The App does not send your trip documents, ticket images, or ticket PDFs to third-party AI or OCR cloud services. Structured ticket fields and attached files you save may still sync to Firebase when you are signed in, like other trip content.
With your permission, the App schedules local reminders on your device (for example packing or trip start). These are not delivered through our servers.
If you use the Share Extension on iOS to send a PDF into the App, the file is passed to the App on your device via an App Group container. If you are signed in, attaching it to a trip may upload it to Firebase Storage as part of that trip.
You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App. This removes your Firebase Authentication account, your cloud profile, packing templates you own, and invites you created.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. For help, contact nikitos.koniukh@gmail.com.
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
For privacy questions, contact nikitos.koniukh@gmail.com or the support email listed on the App’s store listing.
